It's a brilliant game though, if you can get your head around its age. It won't have the same impact it had back in 1998 but it's definately worth playing and I also prefer it to Half-Life 2 (probably nostalgia more than anything though). A small warning though, the first game is much more difficult and unforgiving than the second.
It's a cool expansion to the Half-Life series but it is best played with a partner. I prefer the PS2 version than the port for the PC version which sucks since they edited some stuff. Do you need 2 players to play the game? (and if you have to can you play splitscreen?) Yes you actually need a 2nd player. Talk from personal expirience For half life 1 it was the AI that was jaw dropping at the time so yeah its the fighting mechanics. Half life 2 onwards one thing that improved greatly was visual story telling scenes like where u find zombies outside a door and u go into the room via the vents and find a corpse with a gun in its hand. 4. alexanderpete.Black mesa is basically a reimagining of half life 1. Same game and story just better in a ton of ways. half life, half life 2 to get the feel of the source engine, then black mesa if you want. Honestly, although Half Life is a really amazing game and all, Black Mesa would honestly be better.
Half-Life. Back in 1998, Half-Life’s storytelling and the conviction of its fictional world were far beyond anything else in the genre. The Longest Journey’s sequel Dreamfall is also worth. 477 172 363 441 399 197 101 58
