from reading on the a5 forum if you update the firmware it locks your maps and you have to activate them again, as you tried to do your update perhaps its just written the firmware again (same version) and due to this needs to activate the maps hence locking you out.. this is the whole reason i have not done it myself, too scared to loose my maps and never had the software from dealers to

I don't think Audi will reduce those buffers any further. The post-2019 MY's still have a bit better range than the updated 2019 since Audi modified some of the braking hardware to allow the later model cars to roll with a little less resistance.
